Food industry news roundup for the week of May 9

Rosemont, Illinois – Day three featured sessions on food safety culture (a big topic during the week), diversity and how food safety can be an issue in supply chain management. In one of the last sessions of the day, John Spink, Ph.D. from Michigan State University, spoke about food safety as a problem in supply chain management. Spink began his discussion by talking about the different types of supply chain disruptions and what might cause them.

Then review the science of supply chain management, focusing on the supply and management side of the business and discuss in detail the implications for safety and fraud. He also covered how the war in Ukraine affects food fraud.
