Magic Grill in West Monroe offers delicious and delicious recipes


This casual, locally owned restaurant brings delicious, rustic cooking to West Monroe.

The Magic Grill on Arkansas Road offers a menu that ranges from fast food standards such as burgers, boboi, sandwiches, and chili dogs to home made dishes, such as red beans and rice, fried chicken nuggets, fish and pork chops.

It is one of the three Magic Grill locations. West Monroe Restaurant owned by Faisal Ali and located in J Mart.

Poppies and specialty burgers at Magic Grill include roast beef, pork, fish, shrimp, ribeye or turkey, and prime and open hamburgers. The Open Face Hamburger contains two burgers served with grilled onions, french fries and gravy.

Restaurant manager Tonya Levy said the po’boy roast beef is the restaurant’s best-seller. The popular dish is served with fresh french fries and gravy. Bestsellers include hamburgers and lunches, which vary from beef and rice to scrambled pork chops.

During Mardi Gras season, the restaurant offers a special festive item, the King Cake burger. Using a piece of regular king cake that is heated on the grill and used as bread.

Other menu items include fried pickles, fried corn, mozzarella sticks, funnel-shaped French fries, Coke, and root beer floats.

The savory and savory recipes are the work of chef Fred Woodbury, whose style of cooking Levi’s is like stepping back into your childhood kitchen.

“It’s like your grandmother used to do,” said Levy. “He puts a little love into it and all that. He does what he does and then always tries to devise a little tweak or something to make it a little better.”

Levy said the restaurant attracts a variety of patrons, including construction workers, students and churchgoers on Wednesday evenings. She said they reopened the restaurant about two months ago and customers were excited about being able to interact with restaurant staff.

“They missed it because we’re such a big family,” Levy said. “Everyone knows everyone, so when they come, we all catch up.” “How are the children? How are the wife, husband or grandchildren?” It’s almost like a meeting place.

Magic Grill is located at 2500 Arkansas Rd., West Monroe and is open 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The other locations are both in Monroe, at 1210 N. 18th St. and 4331 Sterlington Road.
