Boston Public Market now has its first-ever bar.
It’s a cocktail bar called The Pine Bar, and it features beer, wine, and spirits from all over New England.
The bar is owned and operated by The Filmark Hospitality Group, known as Ristorante Lucia and Filippo Ristorante in the North End, as well as the Cunard Tavern in East Boston.
Pine Bar opens Thursday, June 16th.
“From the concept of Boston Public Market, our goal was to add a bar – a place for locals and visitors alike to meet and raise a glass to unite the power of food and celebrate the bounty of New England,” Boston Public Market CEO Sherrill Cronin said in a press release about the pub.
“To check out this item from our collection list while partnering with a local entrepreneur who understands our region’s history and the importance of local sourcing is a dream, and we can’t wait to share it with all of our customers.”
The statement said the pine bar features a 10-spout cast iron intake system and is the centerpiece of the space. Patrons will be able to pull out a chair or walk around the market at hand, as well as eat market-purchased food at the bar.
In addition to offering New England liquor, wine and beer, the press release said the bar’s cocktail ingredients, such as produce, dairy, juices and sweeteners, will highlight Boston Public Market sellers.
Visitors to Boston Public Market will be able to discover The Pine Bar thanks to a vintage-inspired neon sign that pays homage to the European restaurant — Boston’s leading old Italian eatery, which used to be just a few blocks from Boston Public Market now stands, the statement said.
“Nearly five decades after Filippo’s parents moved to Boston and opened Restaurant Lucia on Hanover Street in 1977, our family is proud to open the first pub in Boston Public Market, where we can celebrate the approved neighborhood in the North End and New England,” said Philip Frataroli. Managing Partner of Filmark Hospitality Group, in release.
