(NASDAQ:KDP) today announced a definitive agreement to acquire global brand rights to the ready-to-drink and non-alcoholic cocktail Atypique from Station Agro-Biotech, Inc. Quebec– A based company specializing in the manufacture and marketing of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the early fourth quarter, were not disclosed.
Atypique is a very unique offering in the emerging and rapidly growing non-alcoholic cocktail segment, providing a range of ready-to-drink cocktails, such as margaritas, gin, tonic and mojito. in Canadanon-alcoholic cocktails have grown more than 30 percent in retail dollar sales over the past year, and Atypique now holds a 42 percent market share of that segment, where it is distributed.
The agreement includes a multi-year collaboration between the two companies to support the accelerated growth of Atypique, leveraging Station Agro-Biotech’s expertise in research and development in this category and KDP’s strong sales and distribution network.
