Cha Cha Cha Cha began the life of McCarthy, who legally served alcohol on the first day after Prohibition was repealed nearly 90 years ago. The restaurant favorite serves up Cuban-inspired dishes like the house-made Cajun shrimp in a spicy cream sauce and the faka fritta, a plate full of shredded steak sautéed with onions, garlic, and fresh lemon juice. A staple of celebrations and chance encounters, Cha Cha Cha on Mission will be a mark for guests with ingrained memories of the historic establishment.

Herna Cruz wrote, “So sad about this news! My husband and I had one of our first dates at the mission site when we were both living in town. Thank you for the memories. We will definitely miss Cha Cha Cha Mission Street,” Herna Cruz-Loy wrote on the Cha Cha ad cha on facebook.

Cha Cha Cha lovers can savor their favorite dishes and sip on sangria until the upcoming closing Friday, July 1, and maybe even create new lasting memories at the 1801 Haight St.
