Who Died in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2
Eddie Monson died in the season 4 finale, while Max Mayfield’s fate is still up in the air. Max may be alive or dead. She is not brain dead, but when Eleven visits her mind, it is completely black, leading to speculation that her soul is dead.
Another major question for Season 5 will be if she’s alive Max is blind (Opens in a new tab)? It seems likely that Sadie Sink will reprise her role as Max Mayfield in some form. Veena broke several bones, leaving her eyes disfigured and bleeding. Fans were wondering how she would return, and what blindness could mean for the character.

Eddie meets an abrupt end in Upside Down, after he uses Metallica’s “Master of Dolls” to feed the Demopotes. After being nearly clicked to death, a devastated Dustin sat with him until he eventually passed away.
Talking to Radio Times (Opens in a new tab)Eddie actor Joseph Quinn spoke about the character’s comeback. He had a conversation with Joe Kerry who plays Steve, and said “I was thinking…Joe Kerry and I were discussing ways in which I could [come back]. Maybe I’d be a figment of Gaten’s imagination or something if there was room for something a little supernatural.”
Among the two characters who met their demise, a fan posted on Twitter, “Max says she’s not ready to die, Lucas is crying out for Erica for help, Eddie is dying and Dustin is there… Don’t think I was so sad before.”

Stranger Things Season 4: Ending Explained
Vecna has fallen, but is not defeated. Season 4, Part 2, Episode “The Piggyback”, brought the series to an end. Although it was hoped that Vecna would meet his end, this was not the case. Eleven is nearly defeated by Vecna, a force Mike yells at her in the sensual deprivation tank he loves, which gives her the final push to blow him up before he can kill Max.
Elsewhere in the Upside Down, Steve, Nancy, and Robin play their part in releasing Max from Vicina by setting him on fire.
Killing Max (if only temporarily – her heart stopped for a minute), gave Vecna the strength he needed to remove the barrier between Upside Down and Hawkins. The force of opening the gate was put down by the earthquake, which initially killed 22 Hawkins residents and caused many to flee.
In the aftermath of the damage, Hawkins’ citizens do not appear to believe that natural events are to blame. Baby is happy to see snow falling – although what you can actually see are particles from the inverted part drifting to the ground.
Eleven looks upset as a flowering plant dies and turns to dust before her eyes. These events cannot be hidden for long before the supernatural connection is revealed.
