Everything you want to know, the 9 best burgers to eat

CINCINNATI – Nothing beats a good burger and fries, and this week you can enjoy a $7 burger from a variety of restaurants and eateries throughout the Cincinnati area.

Cincinnati Burger Week takes place from July 11 to July 17 and will see each participating restaurant and chef turn up a unique experience of the classic hamburger – all at $7 per burger.

“From gourmet mixes to off-menu specialties and even beer pairings – we’ll pay tribute to America’s sweetheart – a hamburger,” the event’s website said.

Over 50 restaurants are participating in this event where Tri-State residents embrace food and culture while hoping to try new restaurants and burgers.

Some of the participating restaurants include Agave & Rye, Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint, J Taps Sports Bar & Grill, Mita’s Restaurant & Bar, Swenson’s Drive-In, High Grain Brewing Co. And many more.

While each restaurant produces its own taste of the classic burger, some restaurants dive into the sweet side of things with their creations.

The Macaron Bar—located in Over-the-Rhine and Hyde Park—serves the “French Macaron Burger,” which is described as “sesame almond buns with chocolate ganache ‘meat pie’ topped with chocolate cheese and lettuce.”

Another dessert dish is the Tres Belle Cakes & Coffee Shop in Reading, serving the “Beignet Sliders,” where burger connoisseurs can enjoy “two scoops of powdered sugar that melt in your mouth.” [that] Filled with edible pie dough.”

Every burger looks delicious in the week’s specials, but we’d be lying if we said there aren’t some standout features among the long list of entries. While we implore you to go out and try as many burgers as your stomach can take in in one week, here are nine of the most appealing—albeit possible—burgers from Cincinnati Burger Week:

The Peanut Butter Bacon Burger – The Draft Bar & Grill

Peanut butter on a burger? The Draft Bar & Grille says yes. 6 oz. A pancake with provolone cheese, bacon, crunchy peanut butter, and pickles, the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger is sure to satisfy all of your savory and sweet palate.

Boys do you love Mexico?!?! Woodburn Brewing

Bringing a little bit of Mexico into the burger game, Woodburn Brewing introduces “You Boys Like Mexico?!?!” A pancake of scrambled corn and avocado salsa, diced red onions, cotija cheese, cholela cream and tortilla chips for what’s sure to be a nice added crunch.

Maple Bacon Donut Burger – Keystone Bar & Grill

Another balance between sweet and savory, Keystone adds Holtmann’s donut with the burger. The Maple Bacon Donut Burger includes marinated beef patty, bacon glazed with popcorn, caramelized onions and American cheese, all on a Holtman iced maple donut. We 100% believe the added donut enhances this choice as a breakfast, lunch or dinner option.

Hawaiian Burger – Wishbone Pub

Hawaiian-style pizza is divisive, but what about a Hawaiian burger? That’s what Wishbone Tavern is ordering with its Burger Week contribution. A mix of steak burgers topped with grilled pineapple, lettuce, tomatoes, swiss cheese and teriyaki sauce on a toasted brioche bun, the Hawaiian burger might look a little out there, but we guarantee it’s a must-try.

All The Fixin’s – Slat Pub

Are you someone who loves all the ingredients in a burger or sausage? Well, this is the burger week option for you. Slatt’s Pub at Blue Ash serves the All the Fixin’s burger with a half pound burger topped with mac and cheese, roast pork, and baked beans with sausage, coleslaw, and Saratoga chips. The burger is sure to fill you up because it not only serves as a main course but all your sides are rolled into one dish as well.

Caprice Burger – Miamiville Trailyard

There’s nothing more refreshing than a caprese salad, and now the Miamiville Trailyard is taking that and turning it into a burger. The Caprese burger contains a combination of fresh patties, brisket and short ribs topped with slices of mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and sweet basil, then sprinkled with a balsamic glaze. The best part about this almost burger is the fact that you can enjoy it while eating next to the Little Miami Scenic Trail in Miamiville.

Bana Mi Burger – Lalo

To bring some Vietnamese glow to Burger Week, Lalo in the CBD prepares for Banh Mi Burger. Featuring a lemony beef burger, pickled carrots, onions, cilantro, and sriracho mayonnaise, the burger is sure to stand out among Burger Week’s options.

Cheeseburger at Paradise Mac + Cheese – Keystone Mac Shack

Most people who think of a burger don’t imagine some kind of pie between two buns. Well, Keystone’s Mac Shack in Clifton breaks down any preconceived notions about burgers with a cheeseburger at Paradise Mac + Cheese. The dish is a combination of classic mac and cheese mixed with ground ground beef, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, ketchup and Lays del Pickle chips.

Pizza Burger – Barstool Sports Restaurant & Restaurant

And last but not least, Barstool Sportsbook & Restaurant at Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, serves people not only burgers at Burger Week—but also pizza. The restaurant’s pizza burger features a bun-shaped pepperoni pizza, beef steak with mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce, plus crunchy mozzarella sticks and garlic parmesan seasoning. Although eating burgers and pizza properly with your hands, you may have to pull out a fork and knife for this.
