Healthy eating on a budget? Here’s how to compare the prices of fresh produce in Bellingham stores

As the cost of food continues to rise, the Bellingham Herald compares online prices of healthy foods at local stores to determine the lowest prices.

Prices in groceries continued to rise throughout 2022, with food prices increasing by 10.1% in May 2022 compared to May 2021, according to the USDA.

This increase should continue throughout the year, with the USDA forecasting that grocery prices will rise between 7%-8% in 2022.

These increases prompted people to find more ways to save on groceries, such as coupons, searching for deals and checking if they qualify for food stamp programs.

For those who want to live a healthy lifestyle, sourcing healthy foods like avocado, broccoli, apricot, etc. can be difficult with the high prices of products.
