5 cooking tips for making crispy French fries at home

French fries are the perfect snack for all ages, occasions and all moods. Crispy and salty fries can never disappoint. It’s a must-do for burgers and a must-have item in your snack spread. If you think about it, the recipe for french fries seems very simple but when we actually start making them at home, we don’t get the same crispy french fries that we get in restaurants. why? Here are 5 tips for preparing the perfect French fries:

1. Cut potatoes right

When you cut the raw potatoes to begin with the recipe, be sure to cut them 1/4 inch thick. This is the perfect thickness of french fries that all restaurants and cafes aim for.

2. Pre-cook the French fries

It’s a great way to get the perfect body. Boil raw potato sticks in cold water with a little vinegar and salt for 7-8 minutes. Then remove the potatoes and let them rest on a kitchen towel.

3. Fry for a few seconds first

Dip the boiled potatoes in very hot oil and fry for only 50 seconds. Take them outside on a paper towel. Let them cool down.

4. Freezing french fries

Once the fries have cooled completely, store them in an airtight container and freeze until set and firm.

5. Do not melt

The idea is to let the potato fingers become very crunchy. Defrosting them will make them dirty again. So take them out of the freezer and stir them in the boiling oil and fry them until they turn golden brown.
