The only H Mart in San Francisco aims to add more dining options with food court expansion

Popular Korean grocery store H Mart debuted its first store in San Francisco in April 2021, but the company has already taken steps to expand. As reported by San Francisco Business TimesH Mart has filed permits indicating that the store hopes to take over a space adjacent to its 3995 Alemany Boulevard location; The expansion will add more than 27,000 square feet to H Mart space, which the company will use to add “ground-level food tenants, as well as a grocery food court, and dry produce in a cavernous basement.”

A representative of the shopping center where the store is located has been confirmed to Business Times That H Mart signed a lease for the former 24-hour fitness space but did not provide a construction timeline. Although the Oceanview store is the only H Mart store in San Francisco, there are two other locations in the Bay Area, both in San Jose.
