The names of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s beloved Lillibit and Archie were revealed by the proud parents last year.
Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have “quit” as senior members of The Firm, fans have only been treated to a few glimpses of their children, Archie and Lilipt. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their daughter in June 2021 and it is understood that Prince Charles was “extremely emotional” when he first met her over the jubilee holidays. Sadly, the couple didn’t attend any public events for the jubilee with their kids, but Harry and Meghan released an adorable photo of Lilibet for her first birthday.
This was the second official photo of Lilipet shared by the Queen’s grandson and Duchess Meghan. The first was chosen for their Christmas card 2021 and here the proud parents were also supposed to share the adorable Lilibet and Archie names for Harry and Meghan…
Photographer Alexei Lubomirski snapped a photo of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Christmas card last year that showed a beaming Meghan holding Lillipet gently in the air.
Harry was sitting next to them sitting on his lap to complete the happy family moment. The photo was shared on social media, with Town & Country (Opens in a new tab) It was previously claimed that the latest Christmas card contains a special message for the recipients.
The card reportedly stated that it was “Happy Holidays”. “This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lillipet, into the world. Archie made us ‘mama’ and ‘Papa’, and Lily made us family.”
This wonderful letter highlights not only how special Lillipet’s access to Harry, Meghan and Archie is, but also the cute names the parents of the two children are known for. While “Mummy/Mommy” and “Daddy” are probably more common, the Sussexes seem to have chosen to be called “Mama” and “Papa” instead.
This revelation gave a unique insight into the couple’s life as parents in their new home in Los Angeles, and it’s especially nice considering the amount of attention Harry and Meghan have given Archie Harrison and Lillibet Diana names.
When they previously discussed their decision to call their non-profit Archewell, it is understood that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have revealed that the origins of the Greek word, ‘Arche’, also inspired their son’s name.
As mentioned by Elle (Opens in a new tab)they declared, “Before the idea of ’arche’ came – the Greek word meaning ‘source of action.’ We connected this concept to the charity we once hoped to build, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something meaningful, to do something Whatever “.
Meanwhile, the meaning of Lilibet as a name has a sincere connection to Her Majesty the Queen. As a child, Queen Elizabeth was known as Lillibit to her close family, after which Prince Philip adopted this title for his wife as well. When the birth of Lillibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was announced, it was confirmed that her full name was in honor of both the Queen and Princess Diana.
